Dear sister of the late John Savage of Melrose. Lyons, Jr., with whom she shared nearly 55 years of marriage. She was a faithful parishioner of Our Lady of the Lake in Halifax.Įleanor was the beloved wife of James Q. Eleanor enjoyed being active in the Halifax community as a Girl Scout leader of many years and as a volunteer on various town committees. Over the years, she worked as manager of an Irish footwear import company in Boston, bookkeeper for an eating establishment in Boston, shuttle van driver at New England Villages in Pembroke, and real estate agent at DeWolfe New England and Coldwell Banker. In mid-life, she earned a degree in psychology from Bridgewater State College. The pair married in 1967 and ultimately settled in Halifax, where they established a loving home surrounded by perennial gardens, family pets, wooded trails, and an endless stream of visiting birds. Eleanor met her adoring husband, Jim, in 1966 at a Greek-themed dance in Somerville. Raised in Brighton and the surrounding Boston area, she graduated from Our Lady of Grace Academy in Colebrook, New Hampshire in 1957. She was 82.Įleanor was born in Boston to Lawrence and Catherine (Dennehy) Savage on September 9th, 1939. Plymouth - Eleanor Faith (Savage) Lyons, formerly of Halifax, passed away on January 3rd after a short illness.
